Heather Zaug is a dedicated attorney, devoted to providing vigorous and zealous representation to every client in every case. She has extensive experience in the defense of medical malpractice litigation, and she has obtained numerous defense verdicts.
Heather knows that each client’s case presents unique facts and medical issues and that the key to achieving a successful outcome is developing a defense specific to those facts and medical issues. She recognizes that consistent collaboration with her clients is the foundation of a successful defense. Communication with her clients allows Heather to gain a thorough understanding of the medicine involved with the case. With this knowledge, she performs an exhaustive factual investigation of the issues pertinent to the case. Combining her medical knowledge with her exacting factual investigation, Heather constructs highly persuasive defenses on her clients’ behalf to present to the jury.
In addition to her practice, Heather lectures on issues related to the defense of medical malpractice cases, particularly in cases involving shoulder dystocia and permanent brachial plexus injuries.
Heather has been recognized for her trial success by the Virginia Medical Law Report and Virginia Lawyers Weekly. She has also been recognized by Virginia Super Lawyers in its Rising Stars edition in the area of Medical Malpractice Defense. Only 2.5% of all lawyers in Virginia are selected as Rising Stars.
